From ancient viticulture to contemporary Istrian wine production

Spread across 300 square metres, the museum takes visitors on a journey through time - from ancient viticulture to contemporary Istrian wine production - engaging all five senses along the way. Touch the soil in which the vines grow, breathe in the aromas, listen to the sounds of the vineyard, and learn to read a wine's colour, structure, and character.

from the Histri and Romans to the Austro-Hungarian era

The collection features original Roman amphorae, authentic tools and barrels, a unique display of all Istrian wine producers, and a century-old teran vine planted in 1910. Visitors can explore Istria's native grape varieties, discover the role of the region's four distinct soils in shaping flavour, and uncover stories that span empires - from the Histri and Romans to the Austro-Hungarian era.

SOMMELIER TOURS, WINE TASTING, WORKSHOPS

The museum is also a living cultural space, open to curious minds of all ages. Regular sommelier-guided tours and curated wine tastings offer an immersive introduction to Istrian varieties, while themed workshops explore everything from wine pairing and sensory evaluation to the art of reading a label.
